American actor Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8 1997). Her best-known work is her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her recurring role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Both were computer market researchers. They divorced when Courtney was seven years old and she lived with both parents at various stages. Jennifer her elder sister, is an advertising executive. In 1985, she graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. She also performed with the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley during her time in high school. Thorne Smith made her debut film appearance in the 1986 feature film drama Lucas as well as Winona Ryder Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the 1980s, she was involved in a variety of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she starred in the box-office flop Chairman of the Board with Carrot Top. In 2009, she appeared in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith was a fan of Andrew Shue from Melrose Place in the 1990s. In June 2000, she married Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple split in the month of January. Roger Fishman, the president of Zizo Group marketing and author of What I Know, was her husband. The couple welcomed Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008, at 40 years of age.
