Moss (born February 13th, 1977) is an ex- American football player. He was an
American football player who played 14 seasons in the National Football League
(NFL) as well as with the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders and the New
England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. He is widely regarded as Jerry Rice's
top wide receiver. He holds the NFL single season record for touchdown
receptions of 23 in 2007 the NFL rookie single-season touchdown reception
record (17 in 1998), and is the second player on the NFL's all-time regular
season touchdown reception list with 156. Moss is known for his ability make
contested catches. The term "mossed" was coined by the NFL and is now
a part of the vocabulary of football, became famous because of this. After his
career in football and broadcasting, he began working as a studio analyst at
ESPN for the Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss was
from Rand, West Virginia native. He was a student at DuPont High School, one of
two schools that were later merged into Riverside High School, where he was a
star in football, basketball as well as baseball and track. Randy was also on
the school’s debate team. Moss was a DuPont Panthers' football player who led
them to back-toback state championshipsin 1992 and 1993. Moss was a top wide
receiver. He also played as a free safety and punt return. In 1994, he was
honored with the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia Football Player of the
Year. Parade magazine named him to their All-American high-school football team
in 1995, and in 2009 the magazine named him one of the 50 best footballers from
high school ever.
